I'm a pretty thrifty shopper — unless my employer is footing the bill — but the one place that I'll drop cash is Buttermilk Blue Jeans on Main between So. Ferris and So. Eckar. One time I spent so much they sent me a $25 gift card. They have great tops and I love, love, love their jeans — I'm a Serfontaine addict. Because of all these things, I was distressed to get this email from owner
Darci DeMatteo today:
To all my loyal customers at Buttermilk Blue Jeans,
I thank you for your patronage and support over the past two years. I have so enjoyed creating a fun shopping atmosphere providing the latest in fashion with a knowledgeable and competent staff here to serve you.
With the economy being the way it is at present, I know that buying a new pair of jeans or picking up a cute dress for that party on the weekend is the farthest thing from your mind. We are definitely feeling the pinch here on Main Street. I am offering up this sale as a way to boost my business just a little bit and provide you with a great incentive to get out and shop! My goal is to try and hold on to this store, that I love so much, through this rough patch. I am filled with sadness to think that I may have to close my doors.
I have fought hard to make Main Street in Irvington a viable and energetic place to shop and get all your needs met. I am asking for your help. I know that times are tough and everyone is tightening their belts. There are other businesses in addition to mine that are facing the same difficult choices.
Come out and support all of us the best you can. It would be a shame to lose the Main Street that we all have grown to love!

We should all support the stores on Main Street. We have a fabulous town that must remain viable. Darci runs a fabulous shop and has worked very hard to invigorate Main Street. Best of luck and go shopping. After shopping, stop for a drink at Mima.

Hi,
Jeans are now a very popular form of casual dress around the world. They come in many styles and colors, however "blue jeans" are particularly identified with American culture, especially the American Old West. Americans spent more than $14 billion on jeans in 2004.

I wish I could talk with so much passion of our local stores. Buying jeans is a nightmare here, either they are ridiculously expensive or they are simply too ugly to look at. Thanks for the recommendation, I really needed one, they are great on vouchers too.
